Formerly known as the state pedagogical university of Moldova, the Ion Creanga state university is a higher education center located in Chisinau, capital of Moldova, that educates future teachers of the country. The aim of this university is to provide all the needed teachers of the Moldovan educational system. The university was established in 1940, and is one of the oldest universities of the country. The main campus of the university is located at the heart of Chisinau.
